FUIG is the investment subsidiary of the UWFA that actively manages its two portfolios: 'DA Davidson' and 'Alpha Dawgs.'
Stock pitches are generated on a quarterly basis by analysts of the club. These stock pitches are then voted on by members the investment committee. The pitches and decisions are published in the quarterly investor letter, which can be found on the documents page.
JUNIOR ANALYST TRAINING
Once admitted, new analysts go through a quarter-long rigorous training program to learn about fundamental analysis, equity research, and valuation methodologies.
After training, each analysts joins a one of several coverage teams assigned major sector of the economy. Currently these sectors are technology, communication services, and consumer discretionary.
Applications open in November and interviews are administered on a rolling basis until the second Friday of winter quarter. The interview process involves a combination of behavioral questions, brain-teasers, and questions related to financial markets and theory. All majors are encouraged to apply, though a well-prepared candidate will be familiar with basic financial concepts.
