ABOUT FUIG

FUIG is the investment subsidiary of the UWFA that actively manages its two portfolios: 'DA Davidson' and 'Alpha Dawgs.'

Stock pitches are generated on a quarterly basis by analysts of the club. These stock pitches are then voted on by members the investment committee. The pitches and decisions are published in the quarterly investor letter, which can be found on the documents page

JUNIOR ANALYST TRAINING

Once admitted, junior analysts go through a quarter-long rigorous training program to learn financial modeling, equity research, and valuation methodologies. 

After training, each analysts joins a one of several coverage teams assigned major sector of the economy. Currently these sectors are technology, media, & telecommunications (TMT) and consumer & retail.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications close November 19 and interviews are administered the week after Thanksgiving. The interview process involves a combination of behavioral questions, brain-teasers, and questions related to financial theory and markets. All majors are encouraged to apply, though a well-prepared candidate will be familiar with basic financial concepts.

Our Portfolios

UWFA invests in the stock market through two real-money portfolios: 'DA Davidson' and 'Alpha Dawgs.' 

'DA Davidson' is a fixed $50K competition portfolio through which UWFA represents the University of Washington against 20+ other colleges to compete for the best annual returns, sponsored by the wealth management company of its namesake. 

'Alpha Dawgs' is an ever-growing portfolio funded by students, alumni, and outside investors.

The two portfolios have mirror strategies: Long US Equity.
